What starter theme would be accepted?

    Hi,
    I had quick question with developing themes for ww.wp.xz.cn, could we use any starter theme such as, underscore_s, sage 9(blade templating).
    Are there any sort of restriction, that states that we cannot use sage 9, and should only use underscore_s.

    If you are developing this for personal use – you can do or use whatever starter theme you want. It could be underscores, sage, or a bare bones theme that you’ve put together yourself.

    From my understanding, Sage based themes are not acceptable into the Theme Repository because of the requirements needed to run and develop with said theme. If you are looking to build a theme and release it to the Theme Repository, underscores theme is a good choice or building your own from scratch may also be a valid option. There’s a good checklist in the handbook which I’ll link below that contains the requirements needed to have a theme accepted into the Theme Repository:
