What’s the difference between XML and Database backups?

    WP has a built-in backup feature and it creates a backup into XML format.

    My question is: is there any difference between this XML file and a backup of the database?

    Same thing? and either one of them is suffice?

    the signifigant difference between the 2 is that one can contain the structure of the database tables (the schema) and one wont.
