It might be showing unique visitor as one where as the returning could be more, Arent you using Google Analytics?

Unique vistors cannot account for last nights values which went from 599 views from 91 visits to 614 views from 113 visits. ie the number of visits increased by 22 but they only viewed 14 pages. How did they manage that?

It part of the bog standard WordPress. I just click on Site Stats when logged into my account.
The menu at top of screen reads
