• Curious… As more and more users choose the WordPress experience will WordPress ever incorporate better methods to use WordPress as a full on website,(e.g), options to completely disable all blogging features without having to jump through hoops? I personally use the blog with my own sites but I’m sure I’m not alone here when I say I constantly get asked how to disable all the blog related stuff.

Would this help a lot of users?

Please post your thoughts, I’d like to hear what you have to say… 😉

Could you clarify what you mean by “jump through hoops”?

Hi esmi… Thanks for asking for clarification. Perhaps the “jump through hoops”, wording could be a little strong, as I’m sure some may take it out of context in a negative sense.

How about “One ring to rule them all” Instead of changing a bunch of settings (e.g.) comments on/off, static pages etc. a one button one click option in the main dashboard area?

    Regards.

If you know that you’re doing in terms of comments right at the start (ie whether you want comments or not), all it takes is one setting change in Settings -> Discussion. The issue of making multiple changes only kicks in if you change your mind after you’ve published Posts and/or Pages.

    Thanks for your opinion.

I believe it would still be nice for new users to have a one click solution visible in the dashboard, but heh, who am I…
