Hi there!
isn’t it suppose to reset the views every week and start over again to get the most popular posts for the new week ?
Nope, it doesn’t work quite that way actually.
When set to “Last 7 days” (or “weekly” for the range parameter in [wpp] shortcode / wpp_get_mostpopular() template tag), WPP will retrieve the most popular posts from the last 7 days from the current date, not from the current week.
The “weekly” value is misleading, I know, and should fix it some time.
Thank you so much for replying
For now Is there anyway we can make it reset every 7 days and star over ?
Thanks in advance
Well, you could use either the Clear cache button or the Clear all data button (see Settings > WordPress Popular Posts > Tools ) to manually delete the info stored by WPP every monday.
Keep in mind that once you do it you won’t be able to recover your data anymore (which also affects the statistics shown at Settings > WordPress Popular Posts > Stats).
Ok Thank you very much
i was hoping for something to do it automatically , But im sure you will figure something out on the next update π
Thank you very much π
There might be a way to do it, actually π
I was thinking of using WordPress’ Scheduled Events to have your blog clear WPP’s data automatically every Monday. Just haven’t had the time to actually try this idea due to some work stuff I’m doing now. If you want, I can look into it during this upcoming weekend and post the results here.
Thank you so much for your efforts , and wish you good luck on your personal work , and yes that would be great if you give it a try , ill be very grateful π
Thank you so much
Hey there!
Just a little update: the idea I originally thought won’t work due to some restrictions I didn’t think of before. There are a couple of workarounds that might do the trick, but can’t confirm anything until I actually try them.
I’ll keep you posted with the results π
Hello

Hello
Just checking if you find a solution yet π
