Where in functions.php does a add_filter code go?

    Hello,

    In order to modify plugin content/display I found a way using the –

    Add Filter for Plugin

    It says that snippet(as reqd.) needs to be added in the functions.php of the theme. Now each them has a different functions.php and some overwrite it.

    Now where in theme functions.php does a add_filter code needs to be added?

    Appreciate some guidance as I am new to WP.
