You can enter messages via the chat box. Not sure if that’s what you are asking..?

Anyone can be a sender or receiver. Just open the chat box in a tab and send and receive (i.e., chat) with whoever else is using the chat box. Does that make sense?
So their is no central console so I can manage individual conversations.
Every chat is public to all users who are the console at the time.
Don’t get me wrong its a nice lightweight plugin, I would like to manage individual conversations.

Correct, this is just a chat box plugin. That’s how chat box plugins work. You open the chat box if you want to chat. Also you can manage chats via the admin area, but not add new chats. I think what you are looking for is more something like this:
