where to find the embed code to embed the story directly in the page?
So the code that is displayed when you click on “create New” when publishing the story.

I usually only find the LINK to the story and the item embed webstories does not take me to a single embed, but only to embed multiple stories….. (classic editor)

And no, I do not want to use Gutenberg.

Hi there, @fotoglut! Thank you for your post. There isn’t a way to add the Stories embed code directly from the classic editor. The best way to embed the Stories URL is to copy/paste the embed code you get after publishing the story. You can always use that as a template too, for example: [web_stories_embed url=”https://sgsite.cmsdevrel.com/web-stories/title-no-3/” title=”test7″ poster=”https://sgsite.cmsdevrel.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/beauty_page1_bg-alt-1.png” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

    Thank you.

Note that in the latest version of a plugin, there’s also a button in the classic editor that will fill out and insert this shortcode for you.

@swissspidy that’s great. Where can I get this new version? In my version I only get the possibility to include a list, a carousel etc, to include a single article specifically is not available there.

Apologies, I haven’t read it too carefully it seems! The button in the classic editor inserts the [web_stories] shortcode, not the [web_stories_embed] one. You’ll have to manually enter that one for the time being. This shortcode allows you to embed a single story.
