Check the “Include Featured Image in Post” setting. Should be “Yes”
btw the featured image is the one, which is shown in the edit mode ot the post.
Sorry I got it backwards. The issue is that you can’t see the image in the editor. Postie doesn’t have any effect on the editor.
Typically what happens is that your theme displays featured images which aren’t in the post, so it appears that the image is missing. Did you check the featured image to see if it is the missing one?
I would also try switching to a simple theme temporarily to see if the display is different.
Hi.
In my last post I metioned already that the featured image is the one I can see. It is not the missing one.
I tried this now with WordPress Theme 2020. Same behaviour.
Will all the postie settings be deleted when I delete the plugin.
Or is there a reset button for postie?
Hi, another obervation. I want to see the images imported as a gallery. If I deactivate this setting Γ can see 2 individual images in the edit mode.
Your settings will not be deleted if you delete the plugin, nor is there a reset button.
If you can see both images with the gallery setting turned off then Postie is importing them correctly. Do you have an image gallery plugin that might be getting in the way?
Hi, the import itself is okay. There is an issue when opening the newly created post will be opened for editing. In that case only one image is visible within the classic block.
But thanks for your advice regarding the plugin.
As far as I understand the postie process takes a couple of minutes process importing the email and creating the corresponding post. You create a post (‘tmptitle’) and after some time the creation of the post is finalized. The post is getting the intented title.
There might be some interdependency with the MLA (= Media Library Assistant) plugin. I use it for some attachment terms processing. Turning on/off MLA makes definitely a difference. The issue I am complaining about.
On = parallel updates for attachmend categories or wordpress fields for the attachment
Off = no parallel updates, everything is fine
I am leaving it to you, if you want to investigate further. For the time being I can live with it as the result quite goot. It becomes only an issue, if the user wants to edit the gallery.
Let me know aht you think.
Thanks. I can confirm that Media Library Assistant seems to prevent the [gallery] shortcode from working correctly with Postie.
