Which gallery plugin can I use?

I need to display a gallery of photos of book covers. When a user clicks on the photo, a page is displayed with information about the book. Which plugin can I use to accomplish this?

I tried NextGEN Gallery and it is great, but when the user clicks on a photo the only thing that can happen is a larger version of the photo floating in the browser. I tried Bestwebsoft Gallery but it cuts off the tops and bottoms of images when it resizes the thumbnails, and doesn’t allow for multiple pages (1000 images on one page takes far too long to load).
