    Hi,

Apologies if this is a bit off for this forum (looked through the others a bit). We worked with a development agency which left us halfway to a working site with unfortunately a myriad of issues when launched and trying to take customer orders in person. We have it working mostly but need to expand its capability quickly.

Need some guidance on which route to take for our woocommerce retail/wholesale site. We are selling a part with variations that is an assembly of components which we manufacturer. Right now on the site it is listed as an individual product SKU for our inventory. I would like to get to something like product bundles or kitting (saw on SOS inventory) where the purchase of (1) SKU would automatically deduct the correct quantities of the sub components from inventory but the customer still only purchasing (1) finished assembly. Would also like to get to having the customer select all those sub components or variations but only see the (1) finished good in their cart (saw the product bundle plugin).

The other big one is wholesale. We have the wholesale for woocommerce plugin but it has limited functionality. We would like to be able to create a custom order for the customer (currently have to log in as them to create one) and then send them the invoice. Change the shipping (right now it is 1 part = 1 shipping charge from the retail side) to something where we could either put some math in (6 items per box). Adding an order from the woocommerce page doesn’t allow for much and won’t even let us select the variations for the product (maybe with product bundle this would be fixed?).

We are demo’ing Quickbooks online, Myworks sync and SOS Inventory to possibly move the brunt of inventory and the wholesale section to quickbooks so all wholesale orders would just go from there and somehow the Myworks would sync it with Stripe. Thought of using SOS Inventory to help our manufacturing in house with all the part variations.

Biggest question is, should we try all the plugins woocommerce has to offer or offline it to quickbooks online through all the apps? We do not need to do accounting on quickbooks, our accountant handles AR/AP a different way as long as we can export total sales per month from Stripe since it is all credit card.

    Appreciate any guidance on this.
    -Matt

We recommend checking this documentation for a headway.

    For the other concerns:

This is a fairly complex development topic. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

I can also recommend <a href="https://developer.woocommerce.com/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal</a> for resources on developing for WooCommerce.

You can also visit the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/advanced.woocommerce/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">WooCommerce Facebook group</a> or the <code>#developers</code> channel of the <a href="https://woocommerce.com/community-slack/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">WooCommerce Community Slack</a>. We're lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

This thread has been inactive for a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
