which plugin combination is best?

My friend’s site is currently using aMember and I am moving him away from that. Currently, when a person registers on our site by purchasing something, that person is registered on the site with a number that refer to the affiliate that referred him, so that whenever that registered user purchases anything else, the affiliate receives the proper commission.

Does Affiliate Pro do this in some form or fashion? We want to give the affiliate the proper commission, even if they close their browser, goes and uses another browser, etc. In other words, if a person buys something from our site due to an affiliate and becomes a registered member, if that person buys something else, the affiliate gets a commission on that purchase as well.

I am a bit new to setting up affiliate programs so my apologies if I am not 100% clear on how this all works.
