As far as I know, LocalWP.com is a downloadable local WordPress development server. The site you build sits and runs on your personal computer only — it’s not published on the Internet (unless you transfer the site you your chosen hosting provider, at which point the transferred site ceases to be a LocalWP.com website).
So, given the LocalWP.com site only runs on your personal computer and is not publicly accessible on the Internet, why do you feel the need to have a security plugin at all? What am I missing?
I was wondering what security plugin I should use to prepare for my website to be uploaded to Flywheel or Wpengine to the public. I wanted a security plugin that wouldn’t mess with performance or interfere with woocommerce or subscriptions for woocommerce. Can you provide me with a list of security plugins?
Are you sure all those plugins work with localwp.com because I’ve already tested Really Simple SSL with my website and it doesn’t completely work. Can you or anyone provide a list that works with a website that will be hosted on wpengine or flyweel?
I do not use localwp. I also don’t use Really Simple SSL, as it used to cause problems for me too. But all the others in the list should work, although of course I don’t know what you mean by “doesn’t completely work”. WP Engine itself recommends security plugins here:
https://wpengine.com/resources/wordpress-security-and-antivirus-plugins/
https://wpengine.com/solution-center/security/
Let me explain it doesn’t completely work Simple SSL makes me force activation of SSL where I have to skip some steps but that doesn’t matter now since I’m not using it on my current website. Can you send another link to the WP Engine or Flywheel security plugin recommendation since the link goes to a page that doesn’t exist?
Both sides are easily accessible for me. Please check for yourself what your preferred hosters recommend or write about. We can only point you in the right direction here, you have to decide for yourself what you use. That’s the wonderful thing about the freedom that WordPress gives you.
