Hey Team Media Storage to Cloud,
Firstly appreciate your great efforts for the good plugin but somehow I am not able to connect to the plugin.
I installed the plugin tried connecting it to S3 by adding correct details for API key, secret key, bucket name and region but it shows error please enter correct details and it dosent show any other error please help connecting the same.
Let me know if you require my credentials here is my email ID [email protected]

Same here.
I used the AWS CLI to confirm that the IAM user can copy a file to the bucket. It would be great if an S3 error code or any other information about the error were reported.
Hi,
Can you please follow these 2 documentations and try one more time?
For setting up IAM User for Amazon S3 Bucket: https://rextheme.com/docs/wp-media-storage-to-cloud/set-up-iam-user-amazon-s3-bucket/
For connecting Amazon S3 Bucket with the plugin: https://rextheme.com/docs/wp-media-storage-to-cloud/how-to-setup-amazon-s3-bucket/
Let us know if it still doesn’t work.
Then we’ll have a look and test the connection on our development environment to find out any issue.
Thanks.
Hey Jahir,
Thanks a lot for your help I followed the steps exactly and deleted old access key and regenerated the new access key and it got connected successfully.
But now I am facing another 2 issues.
1. Media library image thumbnails are not visible (when I click on an image it shows correct CDN CloudFront path which I added when I open that image path in new tab it shows correct image but only media library thumbnails are not visible).
2. When I try to check home page it gives me 502 bad gateway error then site goes down for approx 15 mins and it happens for many links if I click through wp-admin dashboard such as when I clicked on permalinks tab again site goes down for 15 mins and so on.
So temporarily I am disabling the plugin please catch me up on email: [email protected], so I can provide you access to fix the issue.
Thanks,
VickyHi @gooalgenie ,
Thank you for informing us about the issues.
We’re having a look and trying to identify the issues as soon as possible.
We’ll let you know as soon as we find a possible solution for it.
Thanks.
Hi @berndbausch ,
Did you follow the procedure again?
Let us know if you face any issues.
We’ll be happy to help you out.
Thanks.
Hey @jahirchowdhury,
Thanks for reply most possible issue seems to be with connecting with CloudFront,
It works I guess with s3 bucket.
Keep some images in Media Library and then connect bucket and CloudFront and see if Media Thumbnails disappears?
And when we upload an image it stores on the server as well as bucket – Main purpose of the plugin is to save server space and load.
If it stays on server than server space is not saved and if does not work with CloudFront then server loading does not improve.
Then it’s of no use but it would be great if these issues are fixed? I would love to rate it 5 star Once these are fixed.
Thanks,
Vicky-

Hi @gooalgenie ,
Can you take screenshots of the issues and give them to us?
Then we’ll have a better idea about them can hopefully provide you a permanent solution.
Also, let us know if you face any other issues with the plugin.
We’ll try our best to solve them and make this plugin more user friendly.
Thanks.
Hey @jahirchowdhury,
Thanks a ton for reply.
But taking screenshot is hard if I activate the plugin the site and server goes down it takes about 1-2 hrs for server to return and then I can access cPanel.
The best thing I would suggest here is try CloudFront and then save the CloudFront URL in your plugin settings for loading images from that path.
If you have any documentation for the integrating CloudFront that would be great too.
The way you provided for S3 bucket.
And are you going to make this workable of storing images directly and only on s3 and not in WordPress uploads directory which would save server space a lot (consider having 10000 post with about 15000 images which will save on server + backing up 2-3 instance of website on server will take up 2-3 times server space) as well as having it on S3 bucket. So users will be paying for S3 bucket + large upload files space utilized on the server.
As nowadays a lot of sites are making use of Amazon light sail, s3, CloudFront.
Hi @gooalgenie ,
As far as we understood, you’re facing 2 issues:
1. Media library image thumbnails are not visible although CDN CloudFront shows you the correct path.
2. When you try to check the home page, you get a 502 bad gateway error. After that, the site goes down for approximately 15 minutes, as you click on the permalink tab of a content.
Here are the possible solutions we can suggest to you:
1 -> For the first issue, this can happen if your bucket is restricted from public view, or if there’s a connectivity issue. So, we suggest you to check your bucket permission.
You can also follow this guide to create CloudFront distributions: https://rextheme.com/docs/media-cloud-create-amazon-cloudfront-distribution/
If the problem persists, you can try to create a new bucket and follow the procedures again. Let us know how it goes.
2 -> About the 502 bad gateway error, this is highly unlikely to get this error using our plugin. However, it could happen due to a plugin conflict issue. So, we can’t assume anything right now and give you a solution.
You can try to run a plugin conflict test and let us know if you find any.
Also, the feature suggestion you gave us to remove the media files from the local server after offloading them in the Cloud, is already on our backlog.
Hopefully, we’ll include this feature on a future update.
Thank you for this suggestion. We highly appreciate any feedback or suggestions about the plugin.
Let us know if you’re facing any more issues.
Thanks.
