Hi,
Haha, exactly! And you probably noticed, but the plugin is temporarily closed, I had to do some additional checks but I was not expecting extra work on my already extremely busy schedule… so hard to handle everything! Spring is coming I hope I’ll be able to enjoy it a bit though 🙂
I will not do it for now; thing is I am afraid people will want a chatbot they can speak to, and that replies; thing is, it might be “cool”, but the cost will be too high, it will be slow, and eventually nobody will really use it. And soon, browsers, through OSX/Windows, will do this out of the box, and I’ll be able to use it directly. It will be free and much faster! So yeah, that would be a lot of work, for something that will be easier and better implemented later.
But maybe I am wrong. Let’s see how it goes 🙂
I don’t think you are wrong, I just think the Eleven Labs platform has way better voices, including completely custom ones that have never existed before. Plus, they sound very human, the tone can be adjusted, and they can even detect sentiment and adjust their voice based on the text.
I think ultimately mobile will be the benefit for it, just as Bing’s new app is a game changer with their voice chat for the new Bing search.
But, as you said, type to text will be native.
There is a cool use case here for customer service. Maybe a “I would rather talk on the phone” and you can have it call them, lol. Now that would be amazing and be possible very soon.
