White space on front page and in general

There’s a lot of white space on the front page – especially on smart phones between the new top menu, logo and then the first headline – see http://imgur.com/qeSiXjN

It’s there to provide space for the breadcrumbs but when its not showing on the front page the white space is of no use. I guess one solution would be to show breadcrumbs on the front page. But are there any way to tweak these white spaces? I’ve tried making the logo smaller but it didn’t give much.

Also in general with the new font theres white space between sections and paragraphs, but one could argue that it looks better and provides usability.
