Why does Yoast not auto update?

Greetings,

We’ve noticed that there are sites on Yoast 9.x and other old versions that have known security vulnerabilities, that are not auto updated. I though that as of wp3.7+, known security updates are applied automatically? https://make.ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/2015/03/14/plugin-automatic-security-updates/

I am not sure if this is still the case but perhaps you need to reach out to WordPress to get this on the list for plugins that need to be auto updated for security reasons?
