Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out!
We’ve seen some similar reports recently regarding the File Change Warning feature in Solid Security. This system is designed to alert you whenever files are added, changed, or removed—but depending on how your host handles updates or how frequently certain plugins write to the file system, it can sometimes trigger more alerts than expected.
Part of the challenge is that different hosting environments may handle background tasks (like automatic updates or caching operations) in ways that cause file changes to appear significant, even if they’re routine.
To help reduce unnecessary noise, you can exclude certain file types or directories—such as those related to backups, caching, or known plugin update paths—by visiting:
Security > Settings > Features > Site Check > File Change
If the changes reported are related to known updates and your Site Scan doesn’t detect any threats, it’s likely nothing to worry about. However, if something seems unfamiliar, comparing the flagged file to a version from a recent backup can help give clarity.
We’re also exploring ways to improve how these alerts are handled in future updates.
Let me know if you’d like help reviewing a specific alert or setting up exclusions!
Best regards,
Kevin
Thank you for your feedback.
This applies to almost all plugins, so we can consider it not a problem.
Perhaps this is an area for improvement on the plugin side, as most use cache managers, which avoids unnecessary stress.
FYI, I’ve installed your plugin on several similar sites, and this is the only one that uses Lite Speed. I don’t know if there’s a connection between this plugin and the alerts.
