• JetEngine is one of the most powerful and useful plugins I use, and I pay for it. I came across this update while looking for a way to use a Bricks-compatible widget to style forms. I was met with the very UNPLEASANT surprise that field configuration can only be done through GUTENBERG. This is one of the WORST downgrades I have ever seen in my life using plugins.

I sincerely hope you seriously consider enabling a (legacy) form widget for JetEngine + Bricks, and I beg you from the bottom of my heart not to remove JetEngine forms. If you want users like me to adopt JetFormBuilder, you should bring back JetEngine’s configuration mechanics and make Gutenberg OPTIONAL—not force your users to adopt the most horrible interface in the history of builders.

  • I agree with you completely. The UI usability is very poor.

For example, adding a section or flex container adds a near invisible white section onto the white page to which you can’t see easily how drag other fields into. https://pasteboard.co/x7ZtLpvZMOlV.jpg

Select pre-existing fields and go “move to” (to try move fields to a new container or section) doesn’t work.

This Gutenberg JetFormBuilder UI really let’s your suite of plugins down as it’s dire and your other plugins like JetEngine etc are excellent.

If you have built a UI yourselves can you please give us the option to use that or Gutenberg as suggested above. Thank you.

It’s worth pointing out that the “document overview” button (3 stripes near the top left) does make it significantly easier to drag & drop fields into their correct column. There still needs to be a dotted line the + sign highlighted once columns are dragged onto the page – something to show that there is something there other than whitespace. In case this is useful to someone.

I contacted support regarding the UI usability of Guternberg and although I think it should be improved once you get used to it it’s not terrible but there is definate room for improvement compared to the likes of Formdiable Forms UI. That is significantly more simple and quicker to do some tasks.

Personally I’d give this builder 3/5.
