Quite likely your theme is designed so BOLD is coloured RED.
If you could give the link to your page where this is happening, I could take a look and suggest a fix.
Sorry to ask this here, but I don’t see any way to start a new topic. How do I start a new topic?

Thanks George! It appears to be a theme issue. I am using the Enfold theme, and when I go to:
“Enfold Theme Options” > “Advanced Styling” > “Select an Element to customize” > select “strong” > “edit element”
I am able to set it to black and this fixes the problem.
However… I still don’t see where it was set to red. I didn’t change it from red to black, I simply added the new setting for black. Where would the default red be defined? Or is it defined somewhere that is not in the API?

Unfortunately, Enfold is a commercial theme which I don’t have… and the only way I can get ahold of a copy to test anything for you is to purchase it 🙂
This is the reason why commercial themes and plugins are not officially supported here… as much as we’d like to help, we’re unable to because we don’t have access to the code to know why something is not working.
That said, if I could see your site, I’m sure I could answer your question.
