    Our site has GTM installed and we house our GA pixel there. We then integrated GA within WordPress using WooCommerce.

    There was duplicate data being sent to GA, so our pageviews were inflated and bounce rates were really low. I had to remove the integration to avoid duplicate data.

    Is there a guide to properly integrate this? Should I remove the GA pixel within GTM and install GA within WooCommerce again?

    I posted this in the wrong section so I am reposting here.

    Hi @luisa027 – this is something that the Google Analytics team should be able to help you with. We can only send information from the WooCommerce side of things, but do not have that much control on the GA side.

    Have you used the same tracking code for both the pixel and this plugin?

    Hi @jobthomas – I followed the instructions from this link:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/google-analytics-integration/

    There was no tracking code – I essentially just added my UA ID to the plugins section.

    Google Analytics wouldn’t know. This is an integration through WooCommerce – it created the plugin.

    Hey @luisa027 – yes, I was wondering if you were using the same UA code on both the pixel and in our plugin.

    I’m not entirely sure what’s happening to be honest and I haven’t been able to reproduce it.

    The reason I mentioned GA, is that we can only control the side of sending information through the plugin: if GA receives duplicate information and cannot merge the information from the pixel side and the WC side, we do not have that much input in there.

    All bits of information would help us a lot. Thanks!

    Hi @jobthomas,

    I only added the UA ID to the woocomerce plugin. The plugin itself automatically populated a code on the site, which created the duplicate data because we also had our GA code in GTM.

    What do you think the issue is?

    Hi luisa027. Have you tried removing the following line from your Google Analytics tracking code?

    gtag(‘config’, ‘UA-XXXXXXXX-X’);

    I have a feeling that the WooCommerce plugin triggers the ID twice when you add your ID to the plugin section.
