Vikram,
Sorry, but I’m not 100% clear on what the exact issue is on your site. Can you explain, in as much detail as possible, what problems the site is experiencing with the product names vs. the category names?
Also, could you please send me a copy of your site’s system status report? You can find it under WooCommerce > Status in the dashboard. Click “Get system report” and then the “Copy for support” button. Once you’ve done that, paste it into your reply.
Thanks!
thanks Adam for replying back, and I hope you help me out, the issue is very simple
here url of shop page of my website:
https://uniformsarees.com/shop-2/
I created few categories and under each category I am uploading certain products, for example:
https://uniformsarees.com/shop-2/housekeeping-uniform-sarees/pink-blue-anganwadi-uniform-sarees-1635/
in above example “pink-blue-anganwadi-uniform-sarees-1635” is a product which is listed under the category “housekeeping-uniform-sarees”
now I hv uploaded few products under this category and all I want is when someone clicks on this particular category, all the products uploaded under this category shall appear under this url:
https://uniformsarees.com/shop-2/housekeeping-uniform-sarees/
but no, this takes you to a broken link page. I hope you got my point, plz guide me and if you are not able to understand this, let me know what all info i can provide you to make you understand the issue.

Hey again!
You can change your permalink structure for WordPress and WooCommerce in the Permalinks settings page in your WordPress menu.
Here’s a screenshot of my setting, pointing at the setting for the product category permalinks base:

Hey there
you didn’t yet got the real issue
here is my permalink setting
https://snipboard.io/2WK0ke.jpg
my simple point is, I am uploading 4 products (P1, P2, P3, P4) under Category ALPHA
URL will be
https://website.com/shop/alpha/p1
https://website.com/shop/alpha/p2
https://website.com/shop/alpha/p3
https://website.com/shop/alpha/p4
right?, now I want simple structure when someone clicks on category alpha
https://website.com/shop/alpha/
all 4 product should be visible on this URL
that’s the issue woocommerce has made complicated, after so much of wasting time, theme guys too gave up, I got a round about way, hope Adam too is reading this:
since this “Category” thing is complicated, I deleted all the categories and simple uploading the products as stand alone product and at the same time using the “tag” option, so basically I hv made all the categories as a “tag” and now surprisinglym woocommerce has no issue with this
https://uniformsarees.com/product-tag/test-one/
plz fill in your views.
I have find a round about way to ovesome the issue since my theme guys are not responding, surprisingly woocmmerce Tag option works wonder, here is the link of updated page
https://uniformsarees.com/shop-2/
Still I would love if your expert ppl can respond and work on this issue for the benefit of other people.
regards
Hi @multifab,
I see you have gotten a workaround, to use product tags instead of categories to relate your products.
Just to check, is the issue replicated on a different theme? Perhaps, you can conflict test on a default WordPress theme or the Storefront theme.
I ask because, on a test site using the Storefront theme and a similar permalink structure, my product categories open just fine.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
