• Seriously considering cancelling premium and moving my sites elsewhere. Can’t believe you think it is OK to fill my backened with ads. Manipulative ones at that with a fake cross to close it that then takes me to your site.

  • Hi @olmcontent,

    Thanks for your comment.

We understand that the Black Friday banner was annoying. Although it was dismissable, it was a bit buggy so we listened to our community and yesterday we publicly apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused to our users (link to Twitter) and released Yoast SEO v12.6.2 which completely removes the banner from the admin panel.

We appreciate your taking the time to send your feedback.

It was more than annoying, it was spammy and manipulative, it was not dismissable you included a fake cross that when clicked on took me to your site. That’s low rent to say the least.

I do not appreciate the copy and paste reply. Telling me you apologised to others isn’t apologising to me. Could of at least removed the other persons name before responding…

    Hi @olmcontent,

Sorry to use the wrong name in our previous reply. We’ve already edited our comment to correct it. We used a saved reply because we wanted to advise our users as soon as possible of the new plugin version.

The banner was supposed to be dismissable but, as you correctly pointed out, the cross icon to close the banner didn’t work as expected for all users. That’s one of the reasons why we decided to launch Yoast SEO v12.6.2.

So you only removed it because it was buggy and not because it was intrusive. I certainly won’t be adding your plugin to any future projects and will recommend customers do not either.

No, I didn’t mean that. We understand that the banner was annoying but at least it should have been totally dismissable.
