Hi @rbjdbkilla,
Thanks, that’s probably my fault, from code I wrote in 3.1.0.
How painful is it to not be able to use the Widget editor with Genesis Blocks?
There’s probably a fix in Genesis Blocks, but it’s hacky, and will probably cause other problems.
It would be very, very disruptive to not use it, we use it on multiple sites across our organization. For now, we are not upgrading to 3.1 because of this issue.
OK, thanks for telling me. It sounds like a huge problem.
I’ll think about it, but there’s a chance I won’t fix it, as the fix would probably cause other issues.
That’s pretty disappointing. Widgets are part of WP core, if your plugin doesn’t support them, what’s the point of having it? Can you please reevaluate your decision?
Sorry, I think I can fix this, actually.
Awesome, thanks for looking into this.
Thanks for your patience. There’s a fix, and we’ll probably release it later this week.
It’s confusing that the URL has genesis-custom-blocks in it, but it’s actually from genesis-blocks. It’s just because it’s hard to link to a .zip file here, and the genesis-blocks repo is private.
Is there any solution for now?
No, sorry.
In my dev environment, it works great!
Thanks a lot for testing it, great to hear!
We’ll probably release it by Thursday.
Hi @rbjdbkilla,
The fix is deployed.
Could you please update to Genesis Blocks 3.1.1 and let me know if that fixes this?
This fixes things. Thanks!
Great to hear! Sorry about this bug.
