widget category drop down menu

    I am using WordPress version 2.6.2 with the Default theme and with 2 standard widgets in the standard Sidebar.

    I have the “Category” widget added to my sidebar – set to Show as dropdown and to Show post counts

    Both when I Visit Site or sign on as a normal user, all I see is the title “Category,” which is not clickable for the drop down menu

    I can change that “Category” title ok but still NO drop down

    This is VERY weird – a very standard, very basic theme and a simple widget – I don’t understand!!! Could it be a bug? Could i have somehow messed up? Incredible!

    Please post the link to the site.

    But my guess is:
    a) either you have no categories
    b) the categories are empty.(no posts in them. the widget does not show empty categories)
