    Hi,

    The widget should work outside the loop as well. It is working below the posts is a good thing to hear.

    Could you please temporarily switch to Twenty Fifteen theme and see if the widget works fine? I want to eliminate this as a theme issue before trying other steps.

    The next step would be to install a plugin like query monitor to see what queries are being pulled.
