• I was customizing some widgets a couple days ago and I clicked back to leave the page because I didn’t want to save the changes I had just made and now the widget page is completely blank.
We have 2 separate admin accounts and the second account can still see the widget page but mine is blank. I even logged into mine on another computer and still the same.
I have seen a lot of problems with the widget page being blank but all of them were right after a new update…all I did was leave the page without saving, there were no updates or new plugins it just stopped in the matter of a second.

    Anyone have any ideas?
It should be noted that I am not a pro. I don’t work with code a lot and I learn as I go so you’ll have to be patient with me. Thanks in advance!

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-One theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

I have a couple questions. 1. looking through some of the reviews for the health check plugin some people said it crashed their site…is this still a somewhat common occurrence? Also if that does happen can I just use my backup to fix it?

    2. While in trouble shooting mode, most people are going back and forth from the back-end to the front-end to see what plugins are causing an issue. But for me, my issue is in the back-end not being able to see the widget page under “appearance”. Does it work the same way? If I disable the plugins and use the default theme do I just check to see if I can access the widgets page?

Once again thank you in advance!

Most of those are for the older version of the plugin before the WordPress Support Community took it over. It’s significantly better now.

    You sure can. 🙂

For question 2, yes that is correct.

Awesome, I’ll go ahead and give that a shot. Thank you!
