Widget Page Control Feature built into wordpress

I know there are a few plug ins that do this but they are not being updated as one would hope and it seems to me that as WordPress becomes more of a CMS this should be a core feature. I would like to be able to control what page individual widgets appear on on my sites. I run dozens of WP sites and frequently want different things in my sidebars based on page content.
Just a request. Maybe for version 4.0
