• I am having an issue with WordPress 3.3.1. I was using the Especial Theme by Temash, great theme, except after installing WordPress 3.3.1 some features became inoperable. My first auto install of 3.3.1 crashed my site and I had to manually upload 3.3.1 in order to fix it. Sort of worked. I since upgraded to 3.4.1 but the widget section is inoperable. I cannot add anything. The widgets I did have were removed.

    Issues:
Widgets – cannot open up current widgets or add any. It is as if the files are missing or there is code missing, not sure. Perhaps some files did not upload correctly or got corrupted. I will leave that to you who are savvy in html etc.

thank so much for all your help!
    Joe

  • Sounds like a theme issue. Does this happen with other themes?

    Hi,
Yes, it happens with any theme. It sounds like something was deleted or corrupted during the past upgrade. Just cannot put my finger on it.

Download a fresh copy of WordPress and upload it again. This is the same as repeating a manual upgrade.

Does the same thing happen with different browsers? Are there any messages in the server error logs?

    Hi Fonglh,
the upgrade did not work and there are no messages in the error logs. I am wondering how the widget page under appearance is effected by other things such as the menu feature etc…. same problem persists in both browsers.

the only other thing I can think of is if the “permissions” is set wrong in the .php files.
