Widget title problems

Widget titles will not allow an apostrophe character or parenthesis. When I try to enter these characters, the keyboard freezes, I get a “not responding due to long running script” message, and I have to click “Stop Script”. I can substitute a grave or “backtick” (lower case character key at top left of keyboard) for the apostrophe, and I can substitute brackets [ ] for parenthesis, but these are not typographically correct.

When I add the widget Mini-Calendar, I get the following message “An error has occurred. Please reload the page and try again.” Since I am doing a Live Preview, reloading the page would erase all of my customization.
