Widgets disappearing

    I just can´t believe this! Lost the work of a whole day doing widgets yesterday – today they are all gone. I could just scream right now!

    Website with 140 pages, in the secondary widget area, I need about 100 similar text widgets with different product tipps appearing on different pages. Not exactly a fun thing to do, boring work. I tested every one of them yesterday and they were there and working.
    Today I continue with this work and after a while, notice that most (not all!) of yesterdays widgets are not there anymore. Not on the admin widget page and not on the website pages. Other widgets of the same type that I did on previous days are still there.

    Does this mean now that my work can disappear erratically at any point in time??? Today the website works, tomorrow it is in a mess?

    I now read about this same problem in other forum strings on much older versions. So I am not the only one experienting this problem and it has been there a long long time…
    And is still there so many versions later?

    How to bring back my widgets?

    Does the issue persist with all plugins deactivated?

    Yes unfortunately. I have just deactivated all plugins, but the widgets are still missing.

    Is the information for these widgets stored in a database on my server? Where can I find it?

    has anybody else an idea? I lost 17 widgets and want to get them back.

    As you can probably see, I am no programmer, just a WP user.
    So those programmers brains who can fix problems like that, where are you?
