• I’m working on a new website where I was initially using the latest version of Widget Context, i.e. 0.8.1

Unfortunately I got really strange results where forms, links, and other “interactive” widgets were displayed in readonly mode.
With “readonly mode” I mean that forms couldn’t be filled in, links weren’t clickable, etc.

The strangest part was that it didn’t happen all the time, but only in some situations.
First of all it only happened when using the default Gantry v4 theme, which is released several days ago. When using another theme such as the default YOOtheme master theme, everything was fine.

But even with Gantry it only happened in some situations.
For example I could disable a particular widget without any issues, but when I moved that same widget to another widget section, everything was ok again.
Similarly it could be that I could disable one widget without any issues, but as soon as I disabled a second widget, that suddenly the whole page was readonly.
In other words: it seemed very random.

But after a lot of testing and trial and error I was confident that it wasn’t related to the Gantry theme but to the use of Widget Context.

Therefore I tried to downgrade to the older version 0.7.2, which I used until now on my other websites, and indeed, this solved all the issues !

So it seems that something is very wrong with the latest versions of Widget Context (cfr other issues reported here recently)

Please don’t get me wrong as I really like this plugin.
Actually I use it all the time and I will continue to do so, but until those issues get fixed, I will stay with v0.7.2
