Which browser/version are you using and on what OS/version? This is usually due to a local browser issue…use a modern one and clear the cache and try again. Dragging and dropping in the wp admin area requires javascript (not to be confused with JAVA)

Thanks for the reply. I am using chrome primarily and have tried it in FF too. The same thing happens.
Would a curation plugin be contributing to this problem?
Am using the quick cache plugin and have cleared it. Will try it again.

Have cleared each browser’s cache, blog’s cache, but no go.
Is only happening to one website.
Any further thoughts anyone?
Have you tried
-deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s)
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
