widgets gone to Inactive Widgets

    Hello
    This morning all my widgets vanished from the pages and they were replaced with the default ones
    They are now in the INACTIVE WIDGET section with all the settings
    I tried to move them back to where they were, and they appear in the right position when i am logged in
    But when I view the site after logging out
    they have reverted to the default widgets again

    I have deactivated all the plugins with no successful remedy
    what on earth is going on???
