• Very odd…. Every other day, all of our page side bar widgets and footer widgets move to the COURSE PAGE SIDEBAR list by themselves. We’ve had to move them manually back 3x this week.

Why might this happen? Very odd…

    Thanks as always!

    Hi voicetoons,

    Thank you for reaching out.

To help us narrow down the cause, could you please let us know did you update any theme or plugins just before or during the time periods when the widgets moved themselves?

We look forward to your response!

    Best regards,

Thanks. We have plugins update everyday and do not track them. Never have issues as many if not all we have used for years. We have tested and there are no plugin conflicts to our knowledge. Very odd….

    Hi voicetoons,

    Thank you for the update.

Since the issue is not caused by a known conflict and you are using a third-party theme, it is very challenging to determine the exact cause. It is possible that one of your daily plugin updates, or even a theme update, is running an update script that improperly resets widget locations to the default Course Page Sidebar.

To help us find the root cause and provide a definitive fix, we recommend the following process:

    1. Set up Daily Backups: Ensure you have reliable, automatic daily backups of your entire site (files and database).
    2. Wait for the Issue to Recur: The next time your sidebar and footer widgets suddenly move to the Course Page Sidebar, DO NOT manually move them back immediately.
    3. Immediately Contact Us: Right after the widgets move, please notify us immediately. It would be extremely helpful if you could also provide a screenshot or a short video showing the misplaced widgets.
    4. Restore the Backup: Once you’ve documented the issue, you can restore your site to the most recent backup where the widgets were still correctly positioned.

By capturing the site right after the error occurs and before you fix it, we have the best chance to see the changes in the database or files caused by the conflicting action.

We know this is an inconvenience, but it is the most effective way to help us identify the cause and provide a permanent solution.

Thank you again for your patience and collaboration!

    Best regards,
    Brianvu-tp

Hi Brianvu-tp, ok so out of the blue, today the widgets moved to the LearnPress side bar as explained. Do you want us to supply our admin login info in a ticket? See image – https://ibb.co/cKq1KT8d

We are aware of that, common sence. Yet just asking if he wants that seems pretty safe. How else do we communicate with Brianvu-tp and ask if that is what he wants next based on the exchange herein? Very odd post.

He may not ask for it; if he does that here, there can be sanctions. Similarly, you may not offer a login.
