The best solution would be to use a WordPress Network and have one Site for each Theme, and not use my plugin at all. Of course, that means reorganizing your site so that everything on the currently non-active Theme is in one subdirectory or subdomain. It also takes more work to make a unified menu to make both sites look like one to the visitor. But it is the most reliable way over the long term to use two Themes. WordPress was just not written with multiple themes in mind, and my Theme can only do so much.
The only other solution with my plugin is to try the “Select Theme for Everything” setting which allows you to make the currently non-active Theme the WordPress “Current Theme” and vice versa. It works for some people, but can cause problems if you have many Options selected for the “main theme”.
Hello and thank you for this plugin!
Is there any way with programming to keep the widgets in the inactive theme present. I am not a programmer, but I am assuming there is some way through cut and paste of code?
I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you mean by “keep the widgets in the inactive theme present”.
You may wish to look at “How do I change the Theme Options (Widgets, Sidebars, Menus, Background, Header, etc.) used for each Theme?” on http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/jonradio-multiple-themes/faq/ just in case it answers your question.
If not, please help me understand what you mean.
