• I ran a fresh install of WordPress on my server and widgets will not save. I have tried both Firefox and Chrome. Everything will appear to work correctly, but if I refresh the page it’s as if nothing happens.

I can go into accessibility mode and make changes to a widget. However if I configure a widget to “Sidebar A” at position 1, it’ll save. Problem #1: If I then go immediately back in to edit that widget, Sidebar A will no longer be selected, but position 1 will be. So if I don’t reselect Sidebar A my hitting save will make the widget inactive.

Problem #2: If I configure my widgets in accessibility mode – working around the above issue – then exit accessibility mode and drag a widget and refresh the page, all of my widgets are now inactive.

The site is only available within our local network here at the moment. Is there some specific information you’re looking for that I could help provide?

    I’m running…

    WP 3.5.2
    PHP 5.3
    MySQL 5.5

Yes – your theme & plugins for a start. The widget accessibility option has been extensively tested using themes like Twenty Twelve and no active plugins.

Under those conditions I’m still experiencing this failure.

I’m sorry but we cannot replicate your problem, so this would appear to be specific to your site and/or server. Can you try creating an install on a publically accessible sever?
