widgets stopped to work

hello all
today iwas asked by my friend to help her with her page. suddenly sidebars stopped to show widgets. widgets are set up correctly. there is content how it is supposed to be. but on webpage itself. sidebars just show nothings. there is empty area on both side of page.
please advice
