Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I had already done this and that was when I really ran into trouble.
I found that I had 2 conflicting plugins and had activated
the conflicting plugin and shut everything down when I reactivated plugins. Couldn’t even access the word press account or the site.
I had to go back to my hosting account and find the conflicting
error in the php code and render it false and every thing works fine now.
I am not really a code tech and surprisingly I found this answer.
