Hi @michaelwellnerwp,
From the three listed payment methods, Braintree supports automatic recurring payments for Credit Cards and PayPal.
The plugin has a built in subscription module you can try or you can use WooCommerce Subscriptions (WCS).
Using WCS, you can accept manual SEPA renewal orders.

Hello mr.clayton,
thank you for your quick reply.
How about using giropay instead of SEPA? Does Braintree support recurring payments with giropay?
Best regards
@michaelwellnerwp No local payment methods support automatic recurring payments. This is not a limitation with the plugin. PayPal does not allow vaulting of a local payment method so an automatic recurring payment is not possible.

Hello mr.clayton,
thank you very much for clarification.
Before I sign up for Braintree, please let me sum up things as follows:
– Payments via credit card and PayPal allow automatic recurring payments.
– giropay does NOT allow automatic recurring payments.
What about the following scnearios?
– Scenario #1: The user chooses PayPal, then gets forwarded to the PayPal page. On the PayPal page he decides to pay via withdrawal from his bank account and he enters his IBAN. Will automatic recurring payments still work?
– Scenario #2: The user pays via giropay. As you mentioned automatic recurring payments will not be possible. Will the user be able to renew his payments manually within the WooCommerce shop? If yes: how?
I appreciate your support very much.
Hi @michaelwellnerwp
Scenario #1: Yes automatic recurring payments will still work.
Scenario #2: Yes, recurring payments will be renewed manually. How that works is specific to the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin. A renewal order is created and the customer receives an email alerting them that the payment is due.
Kind Regards,
