will not auto detect mobile device

My mobile devices dont seem to be auto detected. I need to type the mobile site in directly eg. http://mobile.examplesite.com… I have created the blank pages for index on contact, but these are located at
http://examplesite.com/contact
http://examplesite.com/index
And not
http://mobile.examplesite.com/contact
http://mobile.examplesite.com/index

Can anyone help me with this please?
