So what’s the fix for this?
We have a fix ready to go. We’ll just need some more time for testing before releasing a patch. The solution currently would be to delete uninstall.php in the plugin folder, but if you have access to that, you might as well delete the plugin manually.
I’m having the same issue and then after I manually remove the folder, the dashboard is nagging me:
Please install and/or activate the following plugins:
Easy Updates Manager
Hoping the update fixes this issue as well.
I cannot get rid of this notice and it’s extremely irritating.

my apologies.. the install/activate notice was caused by a developer adding it as a theme required plugin
I am having the same problem. I can’t delete the plugin. When I try to delete through ftp, no folder is there. but it looks like its still installed on the plugin page. this is very problematic.
An update with a fix (8.1.1) has just been released. Sorry for all the trouble.
