Will Theme Change Lose Elementor Content?

    Hi.

    I’m currently building on free Astra with free Elementor.

    I cannot get control of the header. The menu is wonky. I’ve tried everything in the customizer to gain control but the options are severely limited.

    I’m thinking of trying free Oceanwp because it appears to have more controls.

    I’m also on the verge of paying for Elementor Pro because even the free version is fantastic and I would like the whole shebang. I don’t want to pay for the theme also as I only build websites infrequently.

    I need to know if the site as I’ve built it will remain rather intact if I try out the Oceanwp theme to see if it will allow my better control of the header. I would continue to use the same plugins and, specifically, Elementor.

    I just asked to join the facebook group and am awaiting approval.

    Has anybody out there changed from Astra to Oceanwp after having build most of a one-page scrolling parallax site? Was the site intact after the change.

    What about anybody who did that and then changed their mind and went back to Astra? Was everything there as originally created?

    I used one of the Astrasite templates to get started and I wonder if that will affect my outcome?

    In general, things don’t change much when moving from one theme to another, if you’ve used Elementor for most of the design. But anything you’ve set in Astra’s options will not stay when you move to Ocean WP. The header is a good example. Since you are using the free version of Elementor, you are using Astra’s theme settings for the header. All of those settings would disappear when you install Ocean WP, and you would need to use Ocean WP’s header settings to make that look the way you want. But Elementor designs (page content for example) will still look the same. Luckily, even if you move to Ocean and don’t like it, you can just as easily move back to Astra, and all the settings you originally did will be back again, so there’s no permanent loss. In other words, you can safely try a different theme, and go back again if you want to, and get it all back again.
