• Great! I got stuck on the very first step of the not-so-5-minute-installation…

First, I clicked on download, and it unzipped the file. Done!

Then I went to open wp-admin-install as the directions said, and it told me “Windows cannot open the file. In order to open the file, Windows needs to know who created this file.” It did this for every file I tried to open…

    What am I doing wrong?

  • You need a web server to run WordPress.

Do you mean I need a web host? I have hosting… I purchased hosting from GoDaddy, I have their WordPress hosting package. I set up a database and thought I needed to do something with FTP and uploading files but that didn’t work and then somebody said to just use the WordPress app and that didn’t work either. This 5 minute installation is turning into 24 hours and I still can’t open any of the files. What am I doing wrong?
