• Hello
Whilst looking for a better editor for the admin such as FCKeditor or similar I found out about this Windows Live Writer and it is in a word fanbloodytastic.

I would like to know if it is possible to write pages with it and not just posts. The posting system is great for adding news etc but I really want to use WordPress as a cms.

Are there any other alternatives to Windows Live Writer that would allow this function or have I missed an option somewhere. I appreciate that Windows Live Writer is in beta at the moment but hope this could be implemented in sometime soon if it hasn’t been already.

    Many Thanks

  • Well, the only real “alternative” to WLW is the performancing extension for Firefox; I don’t know if it does Pages either, since I don’t use Pages much.

You probably want to submit your Pages input on the WLW blog – since it’s not a wordpress plugin as such, asking for a Pages option here won’t help much.

Does anyone know which API WLW uses to access WordPress. I too am looking for something that would be able to edit pages, and I was just wondering how big a job it would be to hack up WordPress to send WLW lists of pages instead of posts.

I pretty much never use posts on one site I admin, but the users are very clueless and using the web interface is just too difficult for them.

Any one have any idea how possible this is?

The new beta of WLW now supports pages.
