Hi, encountering this error when trying to connect my WISE POS E to my wordpress site using your plugin, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

“Connection canceled or timed out, please try again”

The device is connected to a wireless wifi Network

That error would not occur when attempting to connect your reader to your site, it’s only fired on the checkout page when attempting to process an order for an already connected reader.

As indicated in the message, either the order was canceled or it timed out. From the moment the button is clicked, the reader has 45 seconds to be presented a card (or other payment method). Your reader will wake when the button is clicked, requesting a payment method (ie. swipe, insert card, etc). A card may be presented before or after that prompt.

Thats the issue, the reader is not displaying any sort of message – its still blank

Also, a little misleading to be marking this as “Resolved” without hearing back from the party requesting assistance.

If the reader is not prompting for card entry you should first check your network performance. As indicated in the documentation you have 45 seconds, so if your network is slow or your website performance is slow, it may not occur within the 45 second window. The second thing you should check is your javacript console, for errors. A common error is caused by your router and can be addressed with Google or Cloudflare DNS (see our FAQ under “Why am I getting an error connecting to my reader? I registered it without a problem”).

Please note that this item was marked resolved because the original post identified standard documented behavior. The issue you are experiencing (not being prompted) was provided afterwards. In the future if you could please document the entire issue in the original post that will allow us to help you better. Thanks!

P.s. you can continue to reply to this thread.
