Won’t do that again…
-
I’ve now shunned Imagify. I used it on my website and turned all my pictures to ultra mode. It makes the images look like they are glowing so I turn it down a touch. Well, I didn’t notice much of a change so I try to go to the original. It won’t return to original or to the normalized version with lossless quality. It gives me a time out error after 5 minutes of spinning and thinking about doing it. Well, I go to their backup folder and it’s not in there. I know I had the option of backup my pictures before optimizing them selected. Who wouldn’t select that option?
Anyways I go to the website because this stupid plugin is showing I’ve used up all my “compression amount” for the day/month… whatever. So I am like maybe it won’t restore those pictures cause my compression quota is maxed out. Why not spend 5 dollars to fix this headache I’ve been dragged into. This doesn’t fix the problem so I send tech support a message. And they respond with: “It looks like the self-request in your system is blocked by your host or firewall. It would be good to contact your hosting provider and ask them to check it and allow the access to admin-ajax, admin-post and wp-cron as Imagify need these in order to process images.”
Why on Earth would you release a plugin that is going to screw up people’s website because of permission problem the customers “should” know about and contact their hosting provider before installing and using your plugin. I will not use this program again because of the headache it’s given me and the lack of support offered after said headache was reported. Good luck to future users of it and be sure to get all your ajax access from your friendly neighborhood hosting admin before using it. Thank God for auto backups is all I can say.
