Won't let me activate…
-
Hi. I installed your plugin through WordPress and it won’t let me activate it, no matter how many times I click on the Activate link.
I was hoping to check this out to see if it worked on my site, since the facebook name doesn’t work on your example page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey dsb0328,
Sorry for the troubles. There may be a plugin conflict which could keep you from activating. Try turning off all other plugins and see if it activates. what username are you trying to use it is a personal account? Our Facebook (and our plugin) do not allow for you to use your personal account feed in their public graph API.Thanks,
JustinI was hoping it wouldn’t be a conflict of plugins, because I am not going to be able to turn any off at this point, since I am using them for specific reasons with this site. And turning them off to check is not an option. I guess I will unfortunately have to try another plugin. Unless you see any of these that conflict with yours without having me turn them off to check:
Black Studio TinyMCE Widget
Captcha
Contact Form
Contact Form Multi
Easy FancyBox
Meta Slider
Page Builder by SiteOrigin
SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle
TinyMCE Advanced
Ultimate Social Media Icons and Share Plugin (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram, Pinterest etc.)
Welcome to WordPressAs for the name, I think it might be a closed or restricted page, but will have to find that out from the person that owns it first and see if they want to make it public.
None of those plugins have caused issues before but then again any kind of update could cause issues. What version of php are you using?
Spencer
If you are asking which version of WordPress I am using, it’s 4.1.1. Not sure how to tell what version of php, if that’s not the question you’re asking.
Sorry, but I think I just found the PHP version. I think it’s 5.2.17 Does that sound right?
That just might be the issue. You need to be running at least 5.3 or higher for our plugin to work.
Spencer
I’m guessing I need to contact my hosting provider for that then?
That or sometimes you can upgrade the php version from your hosting’s control panel.
Spencer
That did it. I changed my php to 5.3 and the plugin was now able to be activated. Thank you so much!
On a totally different topic, I wanted to let other people know that when I went to put a FB and Twitter feed on the same page, it didn’t work. I had generated the FB shortcode, pasted it into one section of the page, and then did the same for the Twitter shortcode in a different section of the page. The Twitter feed did not work. So, I deleted the FB shortcode from the page, updated, and the Twitter feed showed up. Went back to the page and added the FB shotcode in the original area, updated, and there they both were. Not sure why, but I’m guessing you have to do the Twitter feed first?
Also, should I be correct in guessing this updates the feed every time something is posted to FB and/or Twitter?
Thanks a ton for your help!
Awesome!
Strange about adding the 2 shortcodes. Maybe you just needed to delete the cache.
The feed updates about every 15-30minutes.

I also just added this code to my CSS and it shut down the Twitter feed and gave me the same error as before.
Code
.fts-jal-fb-header {
clear: both;
display: none;
}Error for Twitter feed
Array
(
[0] => stdClass Object
(
[message] => Rate limit exceeded
[code] => 88
))
Oops, Somethings wrong. Rate limit exceeded.All I wanted to do was turn off the header in the Facebook feed.
My bad again. I put that code into my own css and it didn’t work. I removed that and put it in the plugin css area and it’s back up and running.
Good deal! If you get a second and feel like leaving a review that would be awesome! https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/view/plugin-reviews/feed-them-social
