    Hello,

For a few days, my integration with SumUp isn’t working after more than a year functionning ok.

On Woocommerce > Payment > Settings > Sumup, i click on Connect account. I have one account with my name already connected but I am asked to add a new connection, it says “Connected” and then when I click on “View plugin” I go back to woocommerce and have a “non-connected sumup account – identifying information are not valid, please retry” error. I see in my developer view that an API key has been added but that’s it.

    In the logs I see

2025-05-17T09:09:05+00:00 Débogage ==== SumUp Version: 2.7.4 ==== Merchant ID: MDHP7NZ7 === Start Log === Error on settings to create access token. Merchant Id: MDHP7NZ7 === End Log ===

Can’t seem to find any info on how to advance / debug

Oh I thought you had the same issue, my bad.

Would be interested to know the difference and follow your resolution process if you ever have any.

    The process which works :

1- Delete all cookies and history from your browser
    2- Reactivate your Sumup account
3- Start install Sumup plugin process on WordPress
4- This has worked on my site

    Since last Saturday, issue evolved.

So, apparently, we have a payment that did go through on Saturday around 2:13 PM (TAAAU3Y4RPT).

But today I have still the same errors on the WordPress settings when trying to access my account but having different issue when trying to pay through Sumup from my website :

Error on request (cURL) to create SumUp checkout ID during request to SumUp (logs joined).

From https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/failed-to-get-checkout-id-to-process-payment-4/ I can see that it could be an issue on sumup side but did someting changed between yesterday and today ?

    Thanks for the reopening @moderator

@jeep35 Can you elaborate on the first step you described ? I can’t seem to find how to deactivate the existing connection in Sumup.

“Here is the full path of my attempt with success

1- I have deactivated my connection in my Sumup account.
2- in Chrome, I go to “parameters”, “security tab” and I choose to delete ALL the history and the ALL the cookies.
3- I go back to my Sumup account and I connect to it.
4- I go the WordPress plugins dashboard I go the Sumup parameters panel and I activate Sumup as payment plugin.
5- I click on the “Manage” button which runs the installation process. Once finished, I get the panel with the “See plugin”. I click and the button and I get the info that the plugin is installed and is ready to accept payments.
6- I make a sample buy in my shop and I click on the Sumup choice which opens the customer form.”

    @breizhtiger

You go to your Sumup account, in the top right under your name, dropdown list, last item = Deactivate

Although, the gateway has failed again this morning and my solution is no longer working.

Oh yeah @jeep35 you were disconnecting from your account but not the link betwwen woocommerce and sum’up, I understand now.

We feel more and more with other users that this is the issue, multiple connections are existing for the same site but there is no way of breaking the old / deprecated one.

This connection could be the key, but the sumup account does not permit to delete it.
How can it still exist when the corresponding API key is deleted from https://developer.sumup.com/api-keys ?

Here is a new process that has been successful for my site

1- Connect to your Sumup dashboard
2- Click on F5 and Shift F5 in the Sumup dashboard to delete history of the page in the browser.
3- Run the process of installation of the plugin in WordPress dashboard.
4- When you have the information “See the plugin”, click on F5 and Shift F5 to delete previous history
5- The plugin is installed and I verified that it was effective.

    Hope this could help

    Hello @jeep35

Thank you for you continued help.

Is the issue still resolved for you ? Could you transmit some screenshots of the steps ? When I am doing the 4th step, effectively I only see one connection left but when I click on “See plugin” I still have the same “Les informations d’identification ne sont pas valides. Veuillez réessayer.” error in wordpress.

If you would be open to that, I would be interested in exchanging directly and more efficiently through another channel, I am reachable at milin.patrick_at_gmail.com (replace _at_ per @)

The issue could come from CloudFlare blocking the IP address of your server, because it is considered “suspicious”. This can happen if your website is on a shared hosting, via OVH for example.

This is what SumUp explained me for a connection problem on my eshop that looks a lot like your issue : SumUp uses Cloudflare services to decide which servers are reliable.

SumUp told me to ask Cloudflare to delete the IP of my server from their blacklist, except of course it is not so simple : Cloudflare does not know me, and offers no magic form for anonymous people to ask “could you please condider my server as a honest one“.

I tried to explain to SumUp that THEY should ask Cloudflare to clear my IP, since they work together, but there is nothing they can /will do… I am stuck with my OVH cheap hosting.

    Hello,

So for me it fixed itself on Wednesday, nothing done, just my connection is working. I guess my IP is not suspicious anymore, I hope it will stay the same for the longest time possible.

Reposting here the good analysis from @rom-soul

“It seems that if your shop uses a shared hosting , SumUp is not a reliable payment solution.

Sumup uses Cloudflare to decide if a website is reliable, and if Cloudflare considers the IP address of your website suspicious, SumUp won’t work on your shop.
Their is no way to ask Cloudflare to “whitelist” an IP if it is considered suspicious, and SumUp won’t help on that.

I tried to explain to SumUp that THEY could ask Cloudflare, since they work together, but there is nothing they can /will do.

If you still want Sumup to work, you are supposed to change your hosting for a more expensive one.
( Or can change your payment plugin )”
