Hi @grapelover,
Thanks so much for sharing the additional details, and for the screenshot! I tested the same flow on my side and wasn’t able to reproduce the issue either. The fee field accepts an empty value without causing the GST line to break or the totals spinner to hang. See screen recording: https://streamable.com/bvo6nm.
To help narrow down what might be happening on your setup, here are a few things worth checking:
- Make sure both WooCommerce, WordPress and any tax-related extensions are fully up to date. If the issue appears only on a specific version, that will help us pinpoint it.
- Temporarily disable all other plugins except WooCommerce and test the order fee editing again. If the issue disappears, reactivate plugins one by one to find the conflicting plugin.
- Themes can sometimes override admin‑side scripts. Try switching to Storefront or Twenty Twenty‑Five just long enough to test the fee field again.
- Open your browser’s developer console (usually F12) while editing the fee to see if any JavaScript errors appear, which could cause the infinite loading spinner.
- Check your server error logs for any PHP errors when editing the order fee. Same with WooCommerce → Status → Logs
If that doesn’t helps, it’d be helpful if you could share your system status report so we can review the full environment details. You can find this under WooCommerce, Status, then copy the report and share it via https://pastebin.com, https://quickforget.com, or https://gist.github.com.
I hope that helps. Let us know if you need anything else.
well your on hold order did not have the GST, please just recalculat to make sure the gst exist then save, then edit the fee eg remove the number in fee by using a backspace rather than put a 0 , you shall see the difference
Hi @grapelover,
Thanks for the additional clarification, I understand the flow you are describing and how the GST behavior you are seeing would be concerning when editing an on hold order.
The screenshot shared earlier does not clearly show the full steps or outcome you are experiencing. To help us fully understand this and attempt to reproduce it accurately, could you please share a short screen recording showing the entire process, including recalculating the order, editing the fee using backspace, and how the GST value changes afterward. You can use https://loom.com or any similar screen recording tool and share the link here.
Alongside that, please also share your WooCommerce system status report so we can review your full setup. You can find this under WooCommerce, Status, then copy the report and share it using https://pastebin.com, then post the link in your reply.
Once we have both the screen recording and the system status report, we will be in a much better position to investigate this further.
Since there’s been no recent activity on this thread, I’m marking it as resolved. Don’t hesitate to start a new thread if you need help in the future.
